Hello and welcome to another new and exciting blog post. I plan to inform you all about a very influential book in my life. I hope after reading this my blog views will sky rocket past the amount I have now... 8.

The Hunger Games, written by Suzanne Collins was the first real novel that I had ever read. I did not like books. I never gave any book/novel a chance, until my mom referred me to it. The Hunger Games, is the first book of a 3 book series. The setting is a post-apocalyptic nation called Panem. Katniss Everdeen is the main character who lives in District 1 1, which is considered one of the poorer districts out of all 11 of them. The Capital holds the hunger games once a year to have the districts remember how the Capital overpowered the  districts' rebellion 74 years ago. Each district is forced to randomly select a man and a female as tribute to send into a fight to the death clash, where only 1 person can be named victor. After a series of events Katniss finds herself in the hunger games fighting for her life.

This book changed how I looked at books. I never knew a book could be so exciting, so thrilling. I found myself reading this novel everywhere I went. This book taught me that books can be fun and entertaining. I can relate to Katniss very much in the aspects that I found myself in battles all the time. Whether it is in football games, or on the wrestling match, I face that intense adversity all the time.
