Media Image Analysis

In this advertisement we see 3 woman standing/sitting next to a beer can on this advertisement by Old Milwaukee beer. Next to the picture it says "our girls are easy to pick up". The phrase is implying that the beer is very easy to get, but with the short dressed ladies it imply's that they are easy to get too. This advertisement by Old Milwaukee beer is portraying women as easy to get if you drink their beer. This advertisement is downgrading women by portraying to the american man that they only need some alcohol in their body to have that ability to pick up women. I also get the impression that the advertisement is portraying that if the women are under the influence of alcohol like Old Milwaukee then they will be easy to to pick up.

The Mask You Live In Film Blog

People have always been told what is socially acceptable for everyone. Boys and girls have a different set of standards. We are told that boys are meant to be strong, have little emotion, and play with monster trucks. We are told that girls are meant to be soft, wear pink dresses, and play with baby dolls. Society gives us all these rules that make us look weird if we do not conform. When I was a child, I always received footballs, Hot Wheels, and video games as gifts. My sister would get Barbies, stuffed animals, and pink Easy Bake Ovens as her gifts. I remember wondering why my sister didn't like to get the kind of gifts that I got. Everyone told me it was simply because "she is a girl." Similarly, I wondered why I never got an Easy Bake Oven. It looked like fun, but it was only for girls, so I never asked for one. Society taught me that as a boy, I should play with Hot Wheels and footballs, not Easy Bake Ovens and stuffed animals.

Hello and welcome to another new and exciting blog post. I plan to inform you all about a very influential book in my life. I hope after reading this my blog views will sky rocket past the amount I have now... 8.

The Hunger Games, written by Suzanne Collins was the first real novel that I had ever read. I did not like books. I never gave any book/novel a chance, until my mom referred me to it. The Hunger Games, is the first book of a 3 book series. The setting is a post-apocalyptic nation called Panem. Katniss Everdeen is the main character who lives in District 1 1, which is considered one of the poorer districts out of all 11 of them. The Capital holds the hunger games once a year to have the districts remember how the Capital overpowered the  districts' rebellion 74 years ago. Each district is forced to randomly select a man and a female as tribute to send into a fight to the death clash, where only 1 person can be named victor. After a series of events Katniss finds herself in the hunger games fighting for her life.

This book changed how I looked at books. I never knew a book could be so exciting, so thrilling. I found myself reading this novel everywhere I went. This book taught me that books can be fun and entertaining. I can relate to Katniss very much in the aspects that I found myself in battles all the time. Whether it is in football games, or on the wrestling match, I face that intense adversity all the time.

Hello, welcome to The Frogger Blogger. This is a free expression blog to let loose and communicate what is on my mind. My name is Travis Stefanik, I am 18 and currently enrolled at Nazareth Area High School, and also dual enrolled at Northampton Community College. I try to be an active student by involving myself in many extracurricular activities including Student Government Association, Future Business Leaders of America, and Senior Class Executive Counsil. I also involve myself in varsity athletics where I play football and also wrestle.

I try my best to manage my time around school work and activities to still have time to hang out with my friends and family.  I live with my single mother, and I also have a younger brother and a sister in college. My family has had a cat named Leo for three years and we just rescued a dog named Dakota from a local shelter only a few weeks ago.

I plan to continue wrestling into college at a Division One university where I look to receive a degree in business or economics. Coming from a middle class family I strive to further my education as much as possible. With my education I intend to find a job in New York City at a financial institution where I would like to become an investment banker.

With all that said, I look forward to my senior year, the last year I will be with my friends and family before I venture off to college to find the person that I will become.
